Long Time No Talk

Our girl is on top and lil' man is on the bottom this was at 15 weeks
So it has been a long time since the last blog.

A lot has happened! We now know that we are expecting a little girl and our first little man!

Jon is just over the moon! I don't know what to think about having a little man around the house. I guess it will be the same as having a girl except for the obvious! LOL

They are both growing at a great rate and have not given me any troubles yet. Which for me is a big thing. Lots of kicks and movement all at the most inconvenient time.

(when I am trying to sleep)

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that my girly bits feel like they are going to fall out! I asked my doc what he thought it might be and he said, as this is my third pregnancy me pelvis will open/stretch earlier and this is exactly what I am feeling. So disgusting!

Also I have decided to have a natural birth providing everything keeps going the way it is. I am totally freaked out about having a c-section.

Apparently they will just slide out! (my docs words)

I have a check up on friday so if anything interesting comes of it I will be sure to post something. Until then stay safe and mwa for now!

Our Second Scan

Thursday 16th December

Today was our second scan. I went with my aunty Barb to town to have this one. So we have now confirmed that we are definatley having twins. They both have strong heart beats and are growing at a nice rate! Jon still has not come to grips with the whole "we are having twins" thing. He he! I think when we go for our 12 week scan it will though as he hasn't seen the babies yet.

Other than that I have been feeling much better still really tired but getting there slowly.

I have also been told that I will be able to stay out of hospital for as long as I can, so long as I look after myself. Which is a big relief for everyone.

Will post another note after seeing the obstetrician on friday.

Here comes the all day sickness!

Saturday 20th November - Friday 10th December

So all I have felt since the scan is nausea and tired! I find myself sneaking off into Bella and Holly's room to have a cat nap most days.
My sex drive is totally gone as I always feel like I'm about to chunder and the only thing that fixes it is eating. I have read that I need to keep eating all day so that I don't feel as bad as I do, but I don't want to end up looking like a house either.
On an0ther note I have the most amazing husband in the world! He has been the chef and house cleaner for me the last few weeks and has not complained about it either. (what a guy)
Something else interesting about this pregnancy compared to the last 2 is the food cravings.
One week was carrots then, fantastic instant beef noodles and the latest is frozen coke and cucumbers. (much to the disgust of everyone around me)
I have my first appointment at Flinders on Tuesday so I will do a post when I get home to let you know what the next step in this very scary pregnancy will be.
Hope you are enjoying this experience as much as I am!

Our first scan

Friday 19th November

Today we had our first scan. I joked in the morning that we might have twins!! Little did I know I would be eating my words only hours later.

Jon and I decided to take Bella with us so she could see the baby but when we eventually got into the room (after almost weeing myself) the radiographer had some interesting news. Yes we were in fact having twins! Jon and I just looked at each other and laughed, after all what more could we do? Now to break this news to the family. To cut a long story short no one believed us, we had to show everyone the scan pics for them to realise we were not pulling one of our tricks.

Now the fun stuff starts..... We were only planning on one little bundle of joy now we were totally overwhelmed with the thought of having two on the way!

Facing a huge decision

I had a strange feeling like something was changing with my body. Little did I know there were two little embryos starting to take over my body and change our lives forever.
Friday 12th November 2010
It all started when a good friend of mine told me my boobs were getting bigger! After further examination this was totally confirmed. But why? I had been hitting the gym and losing weight in fact the first place I usually lost my weight from was my boobs. My friend joked that I might be pregnant and for those who know me well can probably guess what my answer to that was! (not a very G rated one anyway)
Wednesday 17th November 2010
A couple of days after realising my monthly friend was late I decided to take a test (to reassure myself) and to our amazement the test showed two big fat strong PINK lines!
My first thought was OH F#*K! followed quickly by How were we going to manage another baby? Or another frightening pregnancy for that matter? So... with my whole body shaking I managed to phone my doctor to make an appointment. After the phone call was made my hubby and I just sat there and looked at each other. We both knew what the other was thinking... Is it safe? Should we think about our other options? How are we going to tell our families and friends? OMG!!
The next place we found ourselves was at Jon's parents house. We just sat there, I got the giggles while Jon still sat there looking dumb founded until he finally felt the moment was right and announced that we were expecting. The room went silent and after a few seconds smiles appeared. (A sigh of relief from dad and mum to be.)
Now on to the next challenge, breaking the news to Dad & Mum Yannikelis.
I called my mum and talked to her for nearly 10 minutes before I managed to get up the courage to tell her we were having another baby. He response was exactly what I had expected... Oh Kerrie what about your health? Even though I knew that response was coming I still found it really hard to take on. But I also totally understand where she was coming from. (Jon and I were thinking the same thing)
After all without good health mum and baby would be in danger so we went to our appointment with our doc that afternoon to discuss what our options were. Our Doc was pleased to hear the news but was also very quick to add that there were serious dangers with having another baby. I had to make sure I kept losing weight and decided that daily blood thinning injections were going to be back on the daily routine. When we asked the question, "Do you think we should be having this baby?" His answer was, "Absolutely" So there it was decided The Vorsty clan was to be added from five to six. (Or so we thought.....)
